Roof top is a kind of component used in ancient Chinese buildings. It was originally used to seal
the roof ridge to prevent it from being eroded by rain and other materials. The materials used are
mostly metal or colored glazed.
The roof top is located in the center of the central axis of the building. It has a circular shape,
a round waist, a pavilion, or a pagoda. The common thing such as the small column of the pavilion
is the Baoding, also called the spire, which is often found on the top of the pavilion. It is installed at
the upper end of the middle of the roof of the steeple building. The shape is square, round, and there
are also some relatively complex variations, but the round top is the most common.
